I'm having a fantastic time here in Palm Beach. While it rained the first few days I was here, the weather has been warm and it's been a wonderful break from the Toronto winter. I've been eating out like crazy and also been doing a lot of shopping, especially taking advantage of Palm Beach's fantastic thrift, vintage and consignment stores. If you're following me on Twitter, you'll have heard about all the amazing brands I've come into contact with here for a tiny fraction of their original prices.

These are a few photos from the Toronto airport before my evening flight down here. I realize I'm dressed a little bit like a high school art teacher, but when I'm flying my number one priority is comfort. I basically try to pile on as many flowy layers as I possibly can so that I feel like I'm wearing pajamas, while still looking somewhat put together. The amazing luggage I'm toting was given to me by Heys Luggage, a great Canadian company. I've never had matching luggage (or even pretty luggage) before, so it was a real highlight to be using these. I swear to you, I have never been complimented on anything more in my life!

I'm leaving for the airport in one hour and I haven't packed yet - what is wrong with me!! My family is heading to Palm Beach tonight and I can't get there soon enough. I cannot wait for warm weather, good food and visiting all my favourite spots there.

One of the questions I get asked most often is what I wear when I'm just running errands in the city. I'm not someone who feels the need to be dressy at all times and I thought I'd share a super casual, dressed down look. I've been living in these Mother jeans ever since I bought them. I'm so lucky to have a relationship with Satorisan... I never wore sneakers before they started sending them to me, but now they're a staple in my wardrobe. You cannot imagine how comfortable they are.

Having a super lazy Saturday after a crazy week. I've been working on some really special projects lately that I can't wait to share. Right now I'm most excited about my trip to Palm Beach next week... I can't wait to escape the winter for some sunshine!

I'm having one of the most fantastic weeks ever. I've been spending a lot of time planning for my trip to Los Angeles next month - I'm so excited! My best friend Anna and I are going, and today we found out we'll be attending the Oscar Red Carpet! Anyone who knows me, knows that I ADORE awards shows, so this will be a real highlight. If any of my lovely readers live in LA or have visited recently, please let me know where I should visit, shop and eat... I haven't been since my cousin Amanda took me for my 16th Birthday, so I'm not sure what's new.
These photos were taken on the balcony at my father's friends' gorgeous home. The photos don't capture the incredible backyard.. it backs onto a ravine and is an absolute haven. I am wearing some of my favourite pieces. The sweater dress is so versatile and I wear it all year long. The Jimmy Choo shoes were a Boxing Day find that I just love... even though I can't believe my first pair of Choo's are FLATS... Carrie Bradshaw would not be impressed.

favourite new jacket

I don't think I've worn non-jegging jeans in about two years, but ever since I got these J Brands, I'm denim obsessed. I usually stick to super skinny styles (especially by Mother Denim, a brand I recently discovered), but I'm liking a more flared silhouette this winter.

This coat was gifted to me by Romwe. I love the pairing of army green and shearling, as well as the asymmetrical zip. It's very Helmut Lang, but for a fraction of the price. I'll be wearing it a ton for the rest of the winter months.

All these photos were taken around the Art Gallery of Ontario, after I saw the Marc Chagall exhibit with my Mum (it closes January 15, so run to see it while you can!). The building, recently re-designed by Frank Gehry, still amazes me, even though I visit often. The last photo is a rear shot of the building, featuring Gehry's famous use of titanium. It makes me feel like I'm staring at an abstract piece of sky.

Happy 2012! I hope all of you had a fabulous New Years Eve. I'm really excited about the new year ahead and have some big things planned for it.
Recently I've been receiving emails from readers in cold climates asking about what I wear when I just need to throw something on quickly in the winter. This is a super simple and warm outfit that I wore just running errands. It's always easier to bundle up like the Michelin man, but I try to keep some semblance of personal style by wearing a winterized heel and an uber long scarf.

Christmas 2011

Happy Christmas everyone! I write this from my bed at the hotel my parents and I are staying at this holiday weekend. Because it's just the three of us celebrating Christmas together, we sometimes like to get away from in all and take a mini vacation at one of our favourite hotels in the city. This year I was so blessed to receive some amazing presents. There were far too many to name them all, but highlights included the coffee table book of Linda McCartney's photographs, monogrammed JCrew pajamas, Tom Ford sunglasses, a bunch of Kiehl's products, concert tickets and a lovely Tiffany bracelet from my Godparents. Phew! I'm off to take a nap before we go out for dinner. I hope your Christmases were spent surrounded by loved ones and that Santa spoiled you.

Apparently I was so excited to wear these pants after purchasing them that I forgot to press them... forgive the wrinkles. The TNT Outlet in Toronto has been so good to me. I've found so many pieces there that I'd been tempted to buy thoughout this year at incredible discounts, including these Theyskens' Theory pants. Worn with my trusty leather jacket and my favourite Club Monaco hat.

I've had one of the best weekends ever. Have seen lots of friends, shopped some of the amazing sales happening all over right now, planned travels for the new year, eaten amazing dinners out and cozy dinners in. Both the hat and the trousers I'm wearing in this post are recent purchases that I'm in love with. The pants are a little summery, but I'm still embracing the relatively temperate weather before the snow starts. The Rag & Bone hat is the perfect fall topper for any outfit, I've been pairing it with almost everything. Hope you all had a lovely weekend as well.

Things always seem to move too quickly, don't they? I can barely believe it's already mid-November. Months ago, Christmas seemed eons away, and here I am already booking things for December 2012!

I'm wearing a top sent to my by the wonderful girls at Stylestalker (thanks Rachel!). It is floaty and the perfect balance between sexy and all-done-up. Also wearing my trusty Wilfred leather leggings (a perennial fall favourite) and my favourite heels of the moment, bought at Joseph in London a few months ago. Attitude by Jay Manuel

During LG Fashion Week, I was invited to attend the Attitude by Jay Manuel show, who, as most of you will remember, is Mr. Jay on America's Next top Model. The clothes themselves had great prints and were very wearable, but for me, the real star of the show was the styling, which made every piece look totally resort-ready. halloween: Grace Kelly

I thought I'd post some photos of my Halloween costume! This year a few of my friends went as Hollywood icons, including Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor. I dressed up as Grace Kelly, someone whose style and grace I have always admired. I worked really hard on my costume and I was so happy with it. Everything I'm wearing is from my vintage collection (aside from my shoes, which were last worn at my Grade 12 prom) and I even did my own hair and makeup! I usually prefer to get those things done professionally for events like this, as I'm absolutely useless at doing my own, but I'm quite proud of how both turned out.
My puppy Bella thinks that she's my equal in every way, so she acted like a diva until she finally got her photograph taken too. Hope you all had a safe and happy Halloween. x E

It's nice to be casual once in a while. I'm wearing one of my favourite sweaters with a pair of trousers I bought in London a few years ago. On my feet are a pair of Repetto flats that I love but wear rarely. Repettos are a recent addiction of mine... I love every style that they come in. They are so comfortable and so chic, I can't imagine a more perfect shoe. I acquired three pairs this summer and hope to buy a new pair each season.

Things are quite busy right now with Toronto Fashion Week. Last week I went to "The ShOws", a separate event from the rest of LG Fashion Week, during which Canadian designers who show abroad showcased their collections at the newly opened Ritz Carlton hotel. I attended Thomas Tait, Calla Haynes and Todd Lynn and was so impressed by all the collections, but especially fell in love with Calla's feminine clothes and colour palette. I would have posted pictures, but my camera malfunctioned mid show and I wasn't able to take any photos, so please head over to Flare Magazine's website HERE to view looks from the collection.

In this post I'm wearing two of my favourite new pieces of jewellery, both by incredible up and coming Canadian designers. The headpiece is by The Chains of Love and it is absolute perfection. I'm a sucker for headpieces, I love the ethereal quality of them and they add the perfect touch of boho to a look. I don't wear too many necklaces, but I love this one by Wolf Circus, a brand produced out of Victoria, BC. The bullet crystal has so many colour dimensions and is really on trend right now. I really encourage you to check out these amazing lines and support home grown talent.

The weather has been absolutely amazing in Toronto for the past few days, we're so lucky! I've been outside enjoying it as much as possible. Things are insanely busy right now and only going to get more so with the start of Toronto Fashion week tomorrow. There are some amazing internationally renowned designers showing this year who I've loved for ages, such as Calla Haynes and Tosca Delfino, among many, many others, and I will definitely try to post the best of the best from the shows during the next two weeks. Despite being pretty selective with the shows I've rsvp'd to, my schedule is almost impossible, so wish me luck!
My best friend Sydney gave me this dress for my last birthday... I think the mark of a true friendship is the ability to buy someone the perfect piece of clothing that fits in both size and personal style. I have worn this dress in so many ways and on so many occasions, I'm still so amazed she found something vintage that is so me. Thanks again Miss Syd!

I wanted to put up a quick post to say Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! I'm spending the weekend at my parents' house and have already eaten two delicious turkey dinners. This November, I'll be heading to NYC during American Thanksgiving with my best friend Sydney so I'm lucky enough to give thanks twice this year.
In this post I'm wearing a pair of Limited Edition Cougar Pillow Boots. Only 900 pairs of the boots have been released (mine are no. 862). While they aren't exactly my style, they are wildly comfortable and warm, and are a Canadian classic. You can check them out here.

last Barcelona post

This is the last of my photos from Barcelona. I lived in these pants and pairs similar to them all summer long. Inspired by Celine's silky pajama-esqe style from SS11 and Resort 2012 as well as versions done by many other designers recently, it seems like high-street retailers like Zara and Topshop were as obsessed with the trend as I am. In Oxford I got a reputation for always being in so-called "fancy pants". I think they're pretty much the definition of Man-Repeller though... I can't tell you the number of times I've been accused by guys of wearing "my pajamas" to the bar.

Also wearing one of my favourite finds from my stay in England... a pair of navy velvet wedges from Topshop. They are unbelievably comfortable and in my favourite colour and fabric? I couldn't say no.

I'm dreaming of the warm Barcelona weather while I put this post up. The initial chill of fall is starting to creep up in Toronto, and I'm not happy about it.
These pictures were taken the day my family and I went to see the Sagrada Familia. We don't tend to spend too much of our time visiting tourist attractions when travelling, but we were all too intrigued by Gaudi's masterpiece to stay away. It really is absolutely breathtaking, and like nothing I've ever seen before in my whole life.

Redken Cover Competition

Okay Boys and Girls, I've got a favor to ask of you. Earlier this year my friend Niki asked me to model for her submission to Redken's Cover Competition... Below are some photos from our initial shoot earlier this year. The team was amazing and we had such a blast shooting, even though the prep took hours and hours! My hair was initially minicrimped (to create a frothy, cotton candy-like texture) and then set in mermaid waves. It took about 5 hours to do it before we even started shooting - phew!

And a few months later, we found out that we had placed number one in Ontario. We then went to the finals, which was all expenses paid weekend in Toronto (where I live... but, really, who is going to turn down a lovely hotel suite?) with the other finalists. At the end of our amazing week, we did a second photo shoot with the help of some of the best Redken hair stylists in the world, talented stylists, make up artists and an amazing photographer who has shot covers for Elle. I can't post any behind the scenes photos from this shoot (in fact, I wasn't even allowed to take any), but here are the final two shots.It would mean the world to me if you would vote for us to win the Redken Cover Competition. I was so excited when the news that Karen Elson would be doing a collection for Nine West came out as I'm a huge fan of her music and her career in general. I was lucky enough to be sent a sample from the collection to try a few months ago. The boots are that perfect vintage, pre worn in feel that you would expect based on Karen's personal aesthetic. I paired them with the easist things I found laying around: a slightly rumpled slip dress and a warm knit sweater, things that I think work perfectly with the spirit of the collection.

day uno in Barcelona

Well, really this post is coming from Toronto, but the photos were taken on one of my first days in Barcelona. I was so sad to leave behind beautiful Oxford and all of the amazing friends that I met there, but when the plane touched down in sunny Barcelona, any gloominess that I had felt melted away. There were many things I loved about Barca, but my number one favourite was the FOOD. I spent the next three days stuffing myself full of various tapas and paella, as well as drinking lots of cerveza and sangria - yum!

I know I've been a little MIA but I have a good excuse - I just wrote and submitted the last paper of my entire university career! Right now I'm packing up my room at Oxford and getting ready to fly to Barcelona to meet my parents. I can't believe my time here is already over, it's absolutely flown by. I'll be posting pictures from Paris and London once I've sifted through all of them, and will try to post quite a bit from Barcelona as well. Again, and suggestions about places to visit while in Barca are very welcome!

These photos were taken a few weeks ago at Bicester Village, a designer shopping outlet just outside of Oxford. It's quite the experience, as it has brands like Dior, Marni, Celine, Prada, and D&G, just to name a few! If you ever get a chance to go, I highly suggest checking it out. While the bargains aren't out of this world, it's a fun place to spend an afternoon.

Hello from Oxford! I've been so wrapped up in school, new friends and life in general in a new city, I've barely had any time to myself, let alone to spend blogging! I spent a weekend in Paris with my friend Lynsie this past weekend (pictures to come) and will be staying in London for the weekend coming up. I can barely believe I've been here for two weeks already... it feels like it's been five minutes. I don't have a proper outfit post, but here are a few images I've snapped during my stay here.

Finally feeling a little bit more settled in Oxford... I can't believe I've already been here for a week! It's absolutely flown by. Oxford is the most picturesque town I've ever visited, the architecture is unbelievable beautiful. I'm still trying to get my bearings, but will try to take some photos here to post soon. It's so strange readjusting to being back in school after having worked all summer long!

The lovely ladies at Stylestalker were kind enough to send me this dress. I absolutely love it, so lightweight and perfect for the hot summer weather in Toronto before I left... unlike here in Oxford where I am freezing all the time! I wore it to my farewell dinner before leaving. Also wearing my Repetto flats that I'm obsessed with... I wore them so much that I went back and bought the oxford lace up style in the same material! It's definitely the start of an addiction, I can't wait to visit the Repetto store when I'm in Paris next weekend.

As of right now, my suitcase is still ten pounds overweight and I have no idea what to eliminate - every item feels like an essential! Thursday was the last day of my internship, and now it's my final weekend in Toronto. Things are wrapping up and I'm sad to leave but looking forward to some new experiences coming my way. The weather has been perfect, there's just something so special about Toronto in the summertime. Tomorrow I'll be going to Drake's Ovo festival which I can't wait for... last year's suprise guests included Jay Z and Eminem. After speaking with someone in the know, it sounds like this year's lineup may even top that. On Monday I'll be heading to my parents' house for a week to spend some time with them before I leave and to pack... a task which is just so daunting I can't think about it without getting completely overwhelmed.

The countdown has begun... only 12 days before I'm outta here. I'm trying to get my fill of all my favourite things, including all my favourite clothes that I won't be bringing with me. This dress is one of my favourites for wearing to work and basically sums up everything that I want to wear this summer: oversized, neutral shade, lightweight and sheer. The baggy simplicity of what Ashley Olsen has been wearing lately is something that's really resonated with me. These boots are the best, but they're quite heavy and totally impractical for the damp end of summer/early fall in the UK, so they're sadly being left at home.
Again, please keep any shopping / eating / nightlife recommendations coming. I have definite plans to visit London, Oxford, Paris and Barcelona, but am open to go anywhere, so please tell me the best places to go in any European city!

Had a fabulous weekend and I hope you all did too. I bought these Margiela shoes on sale at The Room last week after being in love with them all season. When The Room's sale had further markdowns last week, I just couldn't resist any longer. They're comfortable and perfect and I'm finding any excuse possible to wear them.
It's so HOT in Toronto - I feel like I'm melting the second I step outside. This sweater lasted about 5 minutes in the heat, but I shouldn't complain... in a few months, it'll be snowing again and then I'll be dreaming of sweltering summers.

I wore this outfit last week to the Black Keys concert at the Molson Amphitheatre with my best pal Sydney (where we, coincidentally, ran into another best friend, Helen)... and then picked it up off the floor the next morning and wore it to brunch. I've been living in this leather jacket all summer, and the t-shirt is a perennial favourite (shirts stolen from ex boyfriends always seem to be the best ones, am I right?). Also went to the SBTRKT show on Friday where Drake made a surprise performance. It was a great week for music.
Satorisan was kind enough to send me these sneakers a few months ago, and while I'm not a very "sportive" girl, these are the perfect summer shoe. The leather is a little bit worn in and washed to perfection and the shoes themselves are beyond comfortable. I'll definitely be packing them for all the travelling I'll be doing in Europe. A month from today is my last day in Toronto (as I mentioned a while ago, I'll be completing the last course of my degree in Oxford during the month of August, and then travelling around Europe for a while after that), and I'm trying to get my fill of everything I love about summer in the city before I have to say goodbye. This whole month will (hopefully) be filled with concerts, rooftop patios, interning, shopping the amazing summer sales, spending afternoons lazing around in Trinity Bellwoods, and, of course, being with best friends and family.
I wore this Winter Kate dress to afternoon tea at the Royal York with my mother yesterday. This is the second Winter Kate piece I've posted recently and I have many more in my closet. It is probably my favourite line for summer - everything is lightweight, floaty and vintage inspired - I practically live in their maxi dresses and floaty cover ups. This will definitely be packed for my trip to Europe, so you'll probably be seeing it again. Wearing a Winter Kate dress and Ecote sandals. x E

On Sunday night I went to the MMVA's (Much Music Video Awards) party with my best friend Anna. The show itself was hosted by Selena Gomez and had attendees like Lady Gaga, Justin Beiber, and Drake. Anna and I attended the VIP party backstage, which was so much fun. A few of you asked to see photos of my birthday dress, so I thought I'd post a few pictures from my party this past weekend. The weather is finally starting to get warm and I'm finally starting to get used to having free time again. It's been a strange transition since finishing school (forever!), and I've been feeling a little listless, not really knowing what to do with myself. I've found that my greatest delight is finally being able to start reading all the books I've had specific interest in all year, but have had to put off in favor of school required reading. I've just started Anton Gill's biography of Peggy Guggenheim and am looking forward to discovering more about the famed patron of the arts.

Happy Easter everyone! I've been staying at my parents' house this weekend studying and spending time together for the long weekend. I can't believe this is the last weekend I'll ever spend cooped up in my den surrounded by mountains of novels, textbooks and notebooks. Thursday evening's exam is the last I'll ever have to write... for the rest of my life!

I've been buying a ridiculous amount of summer clothes lately and dreaming about everything I'm going to wear once the warm weather arrives. All I seem to want to wear is long, flowy dresses and printed pieces of all sorts. Today we got our first real touch of summer weather, so I couldn't resist wearing one of my recent purchases.

Excuse my disappearing act. It's the end of my very last year of university and I've been burning the candle at both ends, as they say. Between the stress of final papers and the start of exams, I've caught a super-flu and have been bedridden for the past few days, but, thank God, I'm finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and it looks like spring.

I own approximately 200 Breton striped tops, but this Club Monaco one is my favourite. I've paired it with my newly acquired vintage Donna Karan pants. I've been forever looking for a pair of suede trousers that end just above the ankle, and found these on Etsy for only twenty-five dollars. I'm also wearing my new-ish Ferragamos that I purchased in Palm Beach but haven't been able to wear because of the weather, and Tom Ford sunglasses.

A few weeks ago I mentioned a few shoots that I'd been doing, so here are some of my favourites from one I did with my friend and favourite photographer Brittany Lucas (check out her Tumblr for more of her amazing photos). As some of you will remember she also took THESE and THESE photos of me. Along with stylist extraordinaire Amy Michelle Smith, we ventured into the extremely muddy and chilly High Park. As cold as it was wearing spring clothes, I had an amazing time with two awesome, creative girls.

Also, I want to mention (since yesterday I got the confirmation that it's truly happening!) that I'm going to be completing the last course of my degree at Oxford this summer! I'm so thankful for all the amazing opportunities that University of Toronto offers to its students, and feeling really blessed that I've been accepted to go! I don't know the exact dates yet, but I will be staying in Oxford for the month of August, then going to London for a few weeks and travelling throughout Europe during September and part of October. I'm really hoping to get a chance to do have a lot of blogger meet ups with my European blogging friends, and of course I'll be asking all of you for shopping/eating/going out recommendations when the time comes!

I've been cooped up all weekend writing the last Jane Austen paper I'll ever have to write for the rest of my life (that's what I keep telling myself so I can get through it). The next few weeks on my calendar are super depressing to look at, filled up with with assignments, exams, essays, etc. But, come April 28th at 9pm, I am a free woman again!

I had two photoshoots this week that were total opposite ends of the modelling spectrum: one was super polished, including 5 hours in the hair and makeup chair and crazy amounts of lighting, the second was photographed outdoors, entirely in black and white film, with super natural hair & makeup and layered springtime styling (the only downside was wearing skimpy, floaty clothes in freezing, damp weather!) I had so much fun on both shoots and can't wait to share them with you soon.

Hi All,

I returned yesterday from a quick road trip to Kingston with my friend Dani. As some of you know, I spent my first two years of university there and absolutely loved it, despite being a big city girl at heart. I didn't get a chance to see everyone that I would have liked to, but I did, for the most part, get to visit all my old stomping grounds, including the Princess Street Urban Outfitters which always has the most incredible sales. I was continually amazed at how the items that sold out immediately in Toronto ended up going on sale for next to nothing in Kingston (like the sweater and skirt featured here). I also went to my beloved Tea Store to stock up. If you're ever there, try the Hangover Blend (which, despite the name, is my every day favourite) and, though it's not on the shelves, ask them to mix you up the digestive tea, it's by far the best detox tea I've ever tried.

It's part of my resolution this year to wear simpler outfits. I'm trying to get back to basics, discovering the cuts, fabrics and colours that I like best and then building on them, eventually achieving that simple, laissez-faire Parisian chic look that I'm so into right now. My style (and life) is a work in progress at the moment. These Prada boots, though pretty unassuming, are my favourites right now. My Dad pushed me to buy them on Boxing Day and despite my adament NO, he bought them for me, and I've basically been living in them ever since. So, thanks Dad. You were right, as per usual.

If you've been following my blog for a while, you know that I rarely, if ever, talk about products, but I just couldn't resist sharing one of my latest obsessions with all of you (and I promise, I'm in no way being paid or compensated for this). I'm so into Charles Albert jewellery, like, every single piece. I like my style to look put together, but always with an edge that's slightly messy, a little imperfect, and almost unfinished (usually it's my tangled hair that makes it that way), but this jewellery reminds me a bit of that. The raw stones keep the otherwise loud colours and statement sizes from being too over the top, and I love that. You can check out the rest of his amazing stuff at his website.

I wore this on Family Day (Presidents Day in the USA), which was spent with my family trying new restaurants and going to the TIFF Lightbox to watch the unauthorized Harvey Weinstein documentary (very insightful, go see it if you can). I haven't had a minute of downtime this break, I can barely believe I'm saying this, but I'm so glad I didn't go to the Carribbean as originally planned. On my break, I've been living in this coat, can you believe it was my grandmother's? I never got a chance to meet her, but I so treasure the things that were once hers. Also, this dress is everything I'm into right now, navy and black, velvet, and mixed patterns. I seem to collect Marc by Marc Jacobs pieces without the intent of doing so, but this is my absolute favourite so far.

This is typical weekend morning look for me... messy hair, the previous night's makeup, a giant tea and the biggest, comfiest sweater I can find. Please disregard the puffy eyes and the unbrushed hair, I haven't been sleeping well lately and have been waking up exhausted with no interest in making myself look presentable.
I bought this Isabel Benenato sweater at the TNT Hazelton Lanes moving sale for just under $200 after being marked down from around a thousand. I'm obsessed with the leather sleeves and the draping of it. The sale is on til the 19th, and everything from Helmut Lang to Carven (my new favourite brand) is majorly marked down, so if you're in the Toronto area, I strongly urge you to go! Also am obsessed with my new boots. I was looking for something super simple without laces, studs or any other doodads and found exactly what I was looking for in these F-Troupe boots from La Garconne (also on sale! These photos were taken with a Yashica film camera, borrowed from Brittany Lucas, who took this set of photos. I'm still playing around with film, and while I like it better as medium than digital, it takes a bit of getting used to. My parents (with some not-so-subtle hints from me) got me this vintage dress for Christmas, and it couldn't be more perfect. Velvet, mini, royal blue and a peter pan collar. The fabric is unbelievably thick, much warmer than expected. Also wearing a vintage purse and my brand new Ferragamos, bought in Palm Beach over winter break. I recently found out they make them in nude patent as well, and I'm not sure I can live without them.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. Mine was spent for the most part with Jane Austen, working on an essay due next week. I'll probably take a break for the Superbowl, not because I have any interest in football (or sports in general, for that matter) but more because I suppose it's something one just does for the sake of it? Had a wonderful weekend and I hope you all did too. Went out to dinners with new friends and with old, saw The BBGuns play their first show at the Silver Dollar, brunched at Le Select with my family, saw Robyn in concert (totally mindblowing, we didn't stop dancing all night) and just gallivanted all over the city. I barely had a minute to myself to deal with all the schoolwork piling up after only three weeks of class. Despite that, I'm liking this semester more and more every week, and I've got a funny feeling that it's going to be a really good next few months.

Wearing: Club Monaco top, vintage skirt, Max Azria shoes. I bought these shoes whilst in Palm Beach with my family during the winter break. I originally tweeted about them months ago at LouLou Magazine's Shop Til You Drop event, and was elated to find them at the Herve Leger/Max Azria store on Worth Ave. for 60% off. I'm about 6ft1 when wearing them, but they're suprisingly easy to walk in with the ankle strap. Definitely my best purchase of the trip.

The day the line was released, I went to the website and purchased this in under 20 seconds, it was true love at first sight. It's bloody cold in Toronto. When I walk outside, I'm bundled to the point of unrecognizable. It seems the only times I can thaw out are at my overheated apartment, wrapped in a knit blanket, sipping hot tea and reading a good novel, or else out with friends, warmed by good company, gossip, and maybe a little wine.

Hi All,
Forgive me for my absence! After the rush of the holiday season, I left on New Years Day for Palm Beach with my family. The day I got there I came down with some mysterious illness and was bedridden until the last day of the trip, when these photos were taken, in the middle of a rainstorm! I did, however, get some awesome last minute shopping done on Worth Avenue, that almost made up for the whole trip. I was so looking forward to taking pictures of all the amazing things I've purchased/received this break, in the warm weather, but considering we've got a foot of snow here in Toronto, that's not going to happen.

it's time for mistletoe and holly

Today I went to a Christmas party and wore this vintage dress, which I'm totally obsessed with. I'm having such a lovely time on my winter holidays, staying at my parents' house, seeing friends I haven't seen in ages, and finally reading all the books that I've been dying to read all semester. Currently on my nightstand: Life by Keith Richards, Blow By Blow by Detmar Blow, and The Little Distrubance of Man by Grace Paley. The coat I'm wearing in these photos is one I used to wear as a child. We found it in storage, and before giving it away I tried it on. It is the PERFECT cropped sleeve coat, made even better when I attach my fur collar. I'll try to post again before Christmas, but if not, I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!

studying for my final exam en français
finishing "Just Kids" by Patti Smith. It's probably one of the best memoirs I've ever read. I highly, highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in the early 70's scene in NYC. It's so inspiring to follow her journey with Robert Mapplethrope, and absolutely heartbreaking towards the end. It's a beautiful elegy to the true ground-breaking genius that he was

kind of changing up my look. I'm not sure if I've caught the Alexa Chung bug or if I've been listening to too much France Gall, but something about looking a little more girly and put together is really appealing right now. Give me princess cut coats, pleated skirts, peter pan collars and anything velvet and mini. I tend to dress a little more ladylike when I'm in Palm Beach, and since I'll be heading there again in just a few weeks, maybe the trend is just starting early.

LouLou Beauty Challenge

A few weeks ago, I mentioned taking a quick trip to Montreal, and now I can finally tell you all about it! LouLou Magazine flew Cindy from True North Style and I to Montreal for a night for us to be featured in their beauty challenge! 3 bloggers and 3 editors from the magazine were given one of 6 famous celebrity looks. I was given Blake Lively's golden waves, which I was super excited about. I don't often have hair envy, but I've always loved Blake's beachy waves.

And click here to see a video of the process: HEREWe had to wake up at 6 am for our 7 o'clock call time (the earliest I've been up in years!). When we checked in the night before, it was dark, so it was amazing to open the drapes in our hotel room the next morning. The sun was barely up, but the view from our room was so gorgeous.Sitting in the makeup chair. You can't tell, but I'm actually sleeping in this picture. Almost. LouLou asked us to try and recreate our looks this weekend based on the instructions in the video. For a girl who only likes to spend 5 minutes on my hair, the process took a little more time than I'm used to, but I love the look. It didn't turn out quite as well as Amelie did it, but not bad for my first try! One of the best parts of the trip was getting to meet some of the bloggers I've been in contact with since almost the beginning of my blog like Stephanie from Le Cheap C'est Chic and Stephanie from Modern Antoinette, as well as meeting and travelling with Cindy from True North Style. We had a great dinner out at La Salle a Manger the night we arrived and a great time shooting the next day, despite the early hours! Thumbs up for a fun shoot. I don't know about you guys, but I hate November. I'm up to my ears in school work, midterms and general existential crises, and on top of that I'm supposed to brave the cold weather AND have a social life?! I'm feeling restless, which, if you know me or have been following my blog for a while, is to be expected. I seem to unconsciously make a total upheaval of my life every two years and, as I'm coming to the end of another two years, I'm feeling anxious for change again. I'm so looking forward to graduating this year and all the awesome changes that will come afterwards.

Like many other Canadian bloggers, I got sent these boots from Cougar, a brand that makes rainboots and snowboots. The winter ones are nice and cosy, and I'm sure I'll post them when it gets a little bit colder. It's been raining a lot here, so I've certainly been getting a lot of wear out of these. I really love how warm they are, and I hate to say it, but my Hunters have been sitting at the back of my closet collecting dust. As someone who generally just wears rain boots with thick socks in lieu of winter boots, I can definitely vouch for these as a good choice. Hello,
I picked this dress up at Urban Outfitters after weeks of thinking about it, only to return and find it on sale. It reminds me very much of Proenza Schouler FW10, and for now, it's probably as close as I'm going to get. I mean, as Lazaro said: "I often wonder, sometimes I think the people who buy our clothes live in a parallel universe. Hell, we can't even afford our clothes."

I paired it with a Topshop belt, Senso cheetah print shoes and Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in Ballet Rousse, as well as my new super-blonde hair. I went to my hairdressers yesterday and came home much blonder than expected, but I'm quite enjoying it.

I've got a super long weekend this weekend, so I'm off til Wednesday. I hope you all had a lovely one.

fever waves pt 1

Hello Loves,
A few weeks ago, my friend Brittany (who I met at Chic Heroin regular Zoe's birthday party) asked me to model in one of her shoots. She is an amazingly talented photographer who shoots primarily with film. Her concept was to use a slide projector in a very Warhol-esque way. (Remember some of his most famous shots of Nico? see here). I took over a bag of my favourite pieces for fall and Brittany, her assistant for the day/the most awesome Reilly, and I had a great morning shoot. Brittany will be launching her new website soon and I'll be sure to post it when she does you can see more of her work.

Hi All,

It's getting really cold here, and these pictures were taken on the last day I could get away with not wearing a jacket. I'm not really complaining though; over the past year, I've somehow accumulated 30+ new fall/winter coats and am dying to start wearing them. Life has been a series of extremes lately, going to great parties, then back home to study in sweat pants, running as fast as I can to get somewhere, only to sit in the same spot for two hours, eating nothing but soup and cereal for days, then going out for a crazy meal... I feel like I am running all the time. If you've ever seen me on campus, you'll know I'm the girl wearing mismatched clothes, with dirty hair and a million things in my hands, dropping something ever few steps. I'll be travelling a lot in the next few weeks, and on top of events and assignments, I don't think things will be slowing down anytime soon.

I'm absolutely in love with this necklace. The medallion is actually a zodiac chart and is super heavy. I'm also wearing a Wilfred crop top, an H&M maxi skirt, and all vintage jewellery.

I'm off to study for my French test tomorrow, for which I am thoroughly unprepared. Wish me luck!! xo E

Shop 'Til You Drop

Hey Loves!

As I mentioned in my last post, last night I participated in Lou Lou Magazine's Shop 'Til You Drop. My best friend Dani came along with me and we had the BEST time. The energy in the air was awesome, and the events were buzzing. Lou Lou had asked me to tweet along with the event, so thank you to all my Twitter followers for bearing with me for multiple tweets, and I hope you'll bear with me again for a tonne of pictures from last night.Our first stop was BCBG where we lusted after accessories of all sorts, the jewellry, the shoes, the bags. They had hair stylists from John Frieda doing hair touch ups and amazing gift bags with purchase. I loved the outfit of one of the BCBG girls.

After BCBG we moved on to Jacob which had a great refreshment bar, a photoshoot station AND a candy bar, which was clearly the highlight of my night. After Jacob, we stopped into Gap where I bought some sunglasses, and then we moved on to Town Shoes, where there was a dj, a wine bar and a vodka bar, and I bumped into Dejana from Shopsterium. I loved the lady-like leopard print bag. The Joe Fresh pop up shop was clearly the most popular venue, with lines down the block, I was so appreciative for my vip pass! The new fall collection is so great, there were so many pieces that I loved. The highlight was definitely meeting Joe Mimran, Mr. Joe Fresh himself, who stopped in to the store and talked to all the attendees in line. We stopped briefly at Winners where I picked up a pair of SS09 Stella McCartney's and got our very own Lou Lou covers taken. We had such a great time, I can't wait till next year! xox E

On Monday night, my friend Lynsie and I attended the launch party for Michael Bastian's new line with Gant at the Harry Rosen Toronto flagship. I wore a vintage Donna Ricco dress (that I call my alphabet soup dress), Sam Edelman boots and a Marc Jacobs purse. The dress was a hit, even with my cab driver who asked "is that a Gucci? It looks expensive." Well, no it isn't and no it wasn't - I picked it up at World Thrift in Palm Beach for FIVE dollars.

After the party, Lynsie and I held our own afterparty catching up on the latest magazines at Maison de la Presse, the best magazine store in Toronto. Check out Ron Wan's blog for some awesome videos of the event. He compared me to Lily Cole, which was very flattering, though maybe a bit of a stretch.

Also, this is my 100th post! I still can't believe how far Chic Heroin has come - thank you so much to my readers and friends who are always so supportive and lovely.

So, this is the cloak I mentioned a few posts ago. It is warm, and has the perfect oversized hood and is basically just the best thing that has ever happened to me. I wore it out last night and got so many compliments from guys and girls. Some guy ask me where I got my cloak from, and then for my number. My navajo cloak brings all the boys to the yard and they're like, it's better than yours...

Today was my last day before moving back to Toronto for good. Everything in my world and the Twitterverse is buzzing with Toronto International Film Fest, store openings, FNO, New York Fashion Week... tonight is the calm before the storm of next week's excitement. I should definitely be sleeping because today was mayhem, and tomorrow will be worse. We went for a walk by the lake after lunch today and I could definitely feel the fall chill in the breeze. Summer is over, baby.

While perusing the latest fall fashions hitting stores, a thought struck me: I've missed out on "Back to School" shopping my entire life. Having worn a uniform kindergarten through high school, the phenomenon was totally lost on me. Now, on a university student budget, who can afford it? Anyhow, In celebration of my last week of summer freedom, I thought I'd put together my virtual Back to School Wishlist. (Dad, if you're reading this, you can also consider this an early Christmas list.)My name is Elizabeth, and I’m a coat-a-holic. I’ve already bought approximately 50 coats for winter and absolutely don’t need another... except for these ones. Shearling is so huge right now, and unfortunately, so are the prices. I’ll be trying to get my hands on the Bebe version, which is sitting pretty under $200. I found a doppelganger for about an eighth of the price, but you'll see that soon enough.Lastly in coats, I love this Graham and Spencer leather jacket. It's a cheaper alternative for the interim period until I can finally afford The Holy Grail.Moving along, in-a-rush, last-minute-party dresses are necessary staples. I like these inexpensive ones from Motel at Karmaloop. Pair with opaque tights and sky high platforms and you’re set. I drive my mother crazy because, if while thrifting, I see a long-sleeved velvet minidress, I absolutely cannot leave it behind, despite that I already own a rainbow of colours in the exact same style. I don’t, however, own one in this particular colour, or one with, how shall I say.. boob pockets?! Anyhow, if I happened to blog this Shenan Blue Velvet Sandy dress from Bonadrag, I could title the post with one of the many epic Blue Velvet quotes, a movie I love (that also gives me nightmares) making this dress doubly awesome.Proenza Schouler. Yes, they're from the summer collection, but they're both on sale at La Garconne right now and finally affordable (sorta), so I'd rather consider them the perfect transition pieces.

This ring only comes in size 6 which is heartbreaking as, fun fact!!, my fingers are size 4.5, like a toddler. But hey, this is a “wish” list after all. Pamela Love, I love you. (At Bonadrag)

Ksubi tshirt. I call my naughty friends “Baddies”, to their faces of course. Clearly, Dan and George had me in mind while making this shirt. ($65 at Net-A-Porter)

I'm not such a fan of the pants genre, but I do need something to tuck the Baddies shirt into. These pairs from IRO and Helmut Lang look uber cool, but comfortable enough to wear to 3-hour lectures.

Balenciaga Giant City in Sahara. I thought I was over this purse... I’m not. Ditto for the Mulberry Alexa. I saw this purse in a pale pink colour and just about had an aneurism. (Note: Also not quite over the Proenza Schouler PS1, Givenchy Nightingale and Acne Pistol boots #justsayin)I wore Swedish Hasbeens at the Aritzia Fashion Show and as comfy as they were at first, my feet hated me by the end of the night. Regardless, I’ll give them a second chance in the form of these high-heeled jodhpurs. Chasse Gardée on Queen St. W has a somewhat similar (and more affordable) pair by Jeffrey Campbell, that I'll pick up if they haven't sold out already. (Also seen here).

Hi All,
I've been so busy lately, running back and forth all across the city. I can't believe summer is coming to an end. Thinking that this is my very last year of school has got me totally scrambling.

The George bag is from the George by Walmart fall preview I went to yesterday morning. I was really surprised as how wearable and affordable some of the new stuff was. I'm totally one of those people who visits Walmart a few times a year and can't leave without dropping a few hundred dollars on everything from crackers, to face wash, to bikinis! On my next trip, I'll definitely be picking up this men's shearling jacket (that looked great on the female model) that I tweeted about yesterday.

In the evening, I was invited to the Scotch & Soda opening event at Sherway Gardens. It is the first store of its kind in North America (a NYC location opened shortly after), though I hear it's pretty popular in Europe. I loved the feel of the store, the clothes are preppy with a grunge twist, and the little details (charms stitched into sweaters, skirts that come pre-accessorized with boho belts & kerchiefs hanging from the belt loops). I couldn't stay for long, but Dani and I had a great time at the party

I wore this to the Jeremy Laing sample sale yesterday. Jeremy's collection was one of my favourites during the S/S 10 shows, so it was fantastic to see some of the samples at such a great discount. I picked up a piece that I can't wait to show you.

Well, I feel like I've just woken up from a coma. After a fantastic vacation in sweltering Palm Beach, I arrived in Toronto late last night and slept in till forever this morning, only to emerge into Toronto's "summer" weather, which doesn't even compare to the heat in Florida in the off-season. I had the most fantastic time, shopped till I literally dropped, ate at some of the best restaurants I've ever visited, lay by the pool, met a few readers from the area, spent time with family and tried my best NOT to tan (sorry to those of you who think I need one!). I was getting anxious to get back to Toronto near the end, but I'm already itching to go back - I miss palm trees! The vintage/consignment/thrift shopping in Palm Beach and the surrounding cities is like no other city I've ever been to. Every time I visit I come home with heaps of designer clothing for next to nothing, we're talking Missoni, Diane von Furstenberg, Dior, Halston, just to name a few. I've got a huge list of the best places to go, so if anyone lives in the area or will be visiting soon, definitely email me! Here are just SOME of the many shoes and bags I brought back.

Hi Dolls,

This week has been a hectic, yet fantastic one. I'm going on vacation next week and I'm definitely ready for sun, relaxation, shopping and maybe even a tan! This week has seen major music acts in Toronto, including a free Metric show at Union Station. I went to see Rihanna last night, and Drake (with surprise guests Jay Z and Eminem!!!) this weekend, so I'm on a bit of a concert high.

I was sent this bag by Fashops (http://www.fashops.com/), a cool online store from South Korea. I was so impressed how they asked me what I liked (instead of guessing blindly) and sending me out a package which I received the very next day! Definitely check out their website for some great, reasonably priced pieces.

I got the top I'm wearing at Sherway Gardens (yes, the mall) which is holding a vintage clothing/antique show right now, I definitely recommend going if you live in the area!

Everything is going to be super cheap and we have lemonade and great music. And you'll probably get to meet a ton of the girls who have been on my blog time and time again! Aritzia F/W Fashion Show

Hi Loves,

First, as a disclaimer, this is the longest post I have ever done and likely will ever do.This past Tuesday I was invited to the Artizia Fall/Winter fashion show and attending the first night with a few friends.

Courtney is one of the most stylish girls I know! Every time I see her she's got a new nail polish on that I immediately want. Love the dark brown (that's even coordinated with her Coca Cola) & also her MM6 dress(I wore: a Thrifted jacket, Zara dress & Miu Miu clogs)

The next day I was invited to attend the fashion show again, but this time to hang out backstage, see the behind the scenes action and also wear one of the new dresses from the collection throughout the night. It was great to see the clothes up close, and also experience the incredible amount of work that goes on behind the scenes. The Aritzia girls are all so stylish and great at their jobs - not to mention super nice, allowing me to take as many photos as I wanted, even though I kept getting in their way!

(Some of my favourite pieces. The mustard crepe shorts and velvet jacket are total statement pieces and the photos really don't do them justice. The Wilfred Free knits are so soft, perfect for curling up in this winter. My favourites were the leather shorts, I can't wait for them to hit stores!)

When my camera battery died after getting a little too snap-happy backstage, a lovely Aritzia employee named Tess (who I mistook for one of the models!) was kind enough to lend me her little camera. I apologize for the quality! (The clothes were all incredible, the Talula and Community brand pieces were everything I imagine wearing to classes next year, while the Wilfred and Le Fou by Wilfred were perfect in their shapes and use of incredibly soft silks and crepes. My favourite outfit was the mustard yellow jacket with the slinky, slightly ombre slip underneath.)

The night was a great experience, I had so much fun previewing the new collections and making a mental list of all the pieces I'm buying for fall. Huge thanks to Daniela, Cher and everyone else at Aritzia for allowing me to attend (and for letting me keep the dress!).

Alexander Wang at Holt Renfrew

Hi Friends,

Last Wednesday, I hustled over to Holt Renfrew at lunch-hour to meet the King of the Model-Off-Duty Look, the modern deity of luxe streetwear: Alexander Wang. The crowd was one of the best dressed I've ever seen, and attracted women of all ages, from teens to 60's, which just exemplifies just how universal his designs are. Alex was totally gracious, taking multiple pictures with whoever wanted them and introducing himself to everyone: "Hi, Nice to meet you! I'm Alex!", as if his biggest fans didn't already know that! Big thanks to Holt Renfrew for hosting the event, it was a great experience, and I'm really hoping there will be more like it in the future!

As I type this post, the grey, rainy day has me wishing for the warm sun in these photos. The past few weeks have been full of nightmares and to-do lists, with intermittent rays of sunshine. With the G20 conference in Toronto this weekend, I'll be staying far, far away from my apartment downtown and (fingers crossed) sitting in the sunshine drinking lemonade in the riot-free suburbs.
As soon as I laid eyes on this Topshop romper, I knew it was mean to be mine, and since recently Topshop started shipping to Canada, I had it sitting in my closet a week later. Now, the wait time is even shorter, as Topshop has officially arrived at Toronto's Jonathan and Olivia boutique (49 Ossington Ave.). I haven't visited since the expansion, but I'd love to hear from any of you who have.

** A note on nail Minxing: I've gotten a lot of questions via email and formspring about my silver nails. Minxing is actually a sticker that is cut to fit your nail shape and then heated on to your nails, it's not a nail polish. Altogether, it cost about $50ish at Toronto's Heartbreaker Salon (889 Dundas St. W), which is, as far as I know, the only place that does Minxing (though Sephora now carries a kind of DIY Minx here.) It lasted about a week before the ends started to look worn. It looks great and was a ton of fun to have, but just as a warning, the ends are pretty rough and catch on fabrics, which is aggravating and, also, when I eventually did peel them off, my nails were pretty dead and unhappy looking, and it's taken me 2 weeks to get them back in shape. I'd get it done again, but not for a while. **

Hi Loves,

Well, I'm officially legal everywhere in the world - 21... when did that happen?! I never thought I'd get this old. First off, I want to thank all of you for the wonderful emails, tweets and formspring messages, it meant so much to hear from you guys and really made my day even more special. This weekend was such a great celebration and I was so spoiled by friends and family, I can't believe how lucky I am to be surrounded by such wonderful people in my life. I can't even conceive of sifting through the pictures taken last night for a post, so that will have to wait till tomorrow, but, in the mean time, I wanted to share something that made my birthday week even better.

This month I'm honoured to be featured in LouLou, one of my favourite Canadian fashion mags. I still can't quite believe my eyes when I flip to page 50 and see my face staring back at me. It was probably the coolest birthday present I've ever received. Thank you so much to Rosalie and LouLou for featuring me - you've made my mother a very proud lady.

Hi Friends,

I started working last week, so my outfits have become quasi-profeshhh these days. Thankfully I've got a nice bossman who lets me wear what I like for the most part (hi Boss), but I'm still getting used to skirts and cardigans. I'm living all over the place right now, so everything is a bit off balance, the worst part being having to pack my closet into a bag. Girls should not have to plan their entire week's outfits in advance, it totally kills the creative process & the joy of contemplating the day's look in the morning over a cup of tea. Am I right ladies?

Hello Lovers,

I wore this outfit to my father's 60th birthday dinner (Happy Belated Birthday Daddy, I love you!!) I've been loving wearing pale colours and all sorts of lace since the weather got warmer.

For those who asked about the Chanel tattoos, I really do recommend picking them up if you can. I got mine from eBay, which I think is your best bet since they seem to be sold out everywhere. They last for about 2 weeks and they're great for satisfying my desire for something a little more permanent.

I headed to the MTV hq on Tuesday to watch the premiere of the Hills and also see Kristin Cavallari. Check out my friend Lynsie's blog for photos. Big thanks to Casie for hooking us up with the VIP section! x

I've been spending a lot of time at my parents home lately unwinding after exams, and, though these shots definitely aren't the most flattering ones we took that day, they reflect how much fun my mum and I were having together.

Hi All,
All I've felt like wearing lately is really neutral, boring clothes. This outfit changed a thousand times throughout the day. I ended the day in Ray-bans, lace up booties, two blazers, a high, tight bun and totally different jewellry, which I would have much prefered to photograph, but sadly my camera died on me before I got the chance.

I swore I wouldn't give in to the clog trend until I went rooting around in my closet at my parents house and found these shoes that I'd bought at Office in London last summer, apparently I was feeling clog-esque shoes before Lagerfeld was?! I feel so hip.

Also, Chanel temporary tattoos are addictive... buy them at your own risk! The ones I'm wearing in these photos were my first trial, I can't wait to plaster the rest all over myself.

Things have been the busiest they've ever been for me lately & with all the great things that are happening, sometimes I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Hi Friends,

These pictures were taken after my good friend Lynsie and I went to the MTV headquarters to see a special interview taping with Kelly Cutrone. Along with a few other Toronto bloggers, we were invited to watch the taping and then for a press meeting afterwards about the new MTV magazine, Fora. Kelly was SO great to listen to. Surprisingly, unlike most reality stars, she was actually real, and took time to talk to girls during commercial breaks.

Unfortunately, immediately after I left the taping, I came down with some sort of radioactive superbug resulting in me doing nothing but lie in bed totally immobile for the past two days, and causing me to miss my favourite holiday (slash excuse to drink during the day). Anyhow, I hope you all had a fantastic St. Patty's and had a green beer (or three) for me.

I put this jacket together by buttoning a vintage fur stole to a five dollar army surplus jacket after seeing Kate Lanphear wearing THIS PIECE OF PERFECTION. I always imagined wearing this outfit with a pair of Alexander Wang "Freja" heels from S/S 2010, but, I suppose a girl's budget only goes so far. Other than that I'm wearing vintage rings, a Marc Jacobs purse, H&M top, Opening Ceremony Sweater and Zara wedges.

Hi All

Things are absolutely insane right now. On top of end of term papers/tests, a ton of AMAZING new opportunities have just been thrown at me this past week. I feel like I'm going crazy, but in a good way. The weather is getting so warm and my patience for all things university-related is quickly running out.

Bought this trench at Topshop in NYC, along with four other coats (needless to say my suitcase was overweight). These shorts were only 10 dollars and I've pretty much worn them to shreds already. I bought my purse at Target (!!!), where I also found my other favourite purse in the world last year. For some reason, I always end up reaching for my Target bags meanwhile my Marc Jacobs Stam and other designer bags sit in my closet and collect dust. This one was close enough to the Alexander Wang bag to satiate my desire for one... for now.

Back in September, I was approached about being featured in a new online magazine called Enamor. It gave me a great chance to shoot with my favourite photographer and good friend Lynsie Roberts (check out more of her work here), and it's probably one of my favourite interviews I've ever done. After a few months of production, it turns out I'm on the cover. Here are a few outtakes, and be sure to check out the first issue of Enamor Magazine here.

These are the last of the New York pictures, I promise. The MoMA is home to some of my favourite pieces of art in the world. I don't share much of my personal interests on my blog, but modern art is something I'm extremely passionate about. As I get older, I have a feeling my funds will be directed less towards clothing, and more towards great art. (This Christmas' sketch is a questionable first for the collection, right Terry? haha.) Warhol, Matisse, dirty/pretty alleys, Mondrian, Monet & my uber chic mother, Picasso, cafe... it was a nice day.

p.s. I guess I would be very unpatriotic if I didn't say hooray CANADA for setting the record in most gold medals ever, and of course, for winning gold in hockey (the only winter sport that REALLY matters). Having the Olympics in my country created a tangible spirit of national pride that I've never felt before in Toronto. For the first time in my life I sat in front of the television riveted by curling and speed skating... who knew? However, as much as I enjoyed it, I'm looking forward to my daily Friends reruns being back on now.

Hi Friends,

This week has certainly been an interesting one! In the midst of school insanity, life seems to have taken off in a thousand different directions. When it rains, it really does pour, doesn't it? A visit from my best friend Christopher on Wednesday made my week, but unfortunately resulted in a not-so-pleasant Thursday morning hangover. Thankfully I was revived in time to celebrate my bestie Dani's birthday at night. It was a lovely night of all sorts of interesting interactions and fun was had by all. Now, sadly, it's time to get to work, I literally have essays coming out my ears.

These photos are from outside the Acne store in Soho. I was super disappointed by the stock, especially when my favourite short Pistol boots were on sale but sold out in my size. But, I miss New York and I can't wait to go back.

These jeans don't photograph that well, but they're the best epically shredded pants ever. They're by Horace, which I got at Carte Blanche, one of my favourite shops in Toronto.

Hi All!

Well, I'm finally back from New York. The travelling there and back was hellish (I'm not a fan of flying), but the trip itself was absolutely fantastic! I had so much fun exploring the city, eating at fabulous restaurants, and shopping. It was especially great to meet some readers, thanks for introducing yourselves, it's always such a highlight to meet people who read the blog. The only strange part of my stay was not being legal drinking age there... It's hard enough looking 16 when the drinking age is 19. I definitely can't pass for 21 even though it's only 4 months away... but thankfully all waiters either took pity or were clueless and served me anyhow.

As promised, I said I'd list some of my favourite spots:

Le Pain Quotidien for brunch, Opening Ceremony for letting me come face to face with Adam Levine (who is 100x hotter in real life, if that's possible), Daha Vintage for fabulous vintage coats and bags, Tokio 7 for well curated consignment, Fabulous Franny's for wicked vintage eye wear, Baja News Cafe for the largest rack of fashion magazines I'd never even heard of, Buffalo Exchange, where you can occasionally find fantastic scores, Acapella for old school dining and impeccable service that doesn't exist anymore, and The Ritz-Carlton for the city's best concierge, staff, bar food (hello parmesan and truffle french fries!) and for letting me steal as many pens as I wanted.

There were many other places that I'm forgetting, and so many other places on my list that I never got a chance to visit. I guess this just means I've got to go back again soon!
