waste the day with me

This month has been one of the busiest of my life, and consequentially, my blogging time has been cut to a minimum. In the past few weeks I've done 5 photoshoots, 2 interviews, had friends from out of town staying at my flat, exams and essays coming out my ears, attended some fabulous events and gone out drinking and dancing till sunrise. I n s a n i t y!!
I have these leather leggings in a couple different colours and I've been living in them this fall. My outfits have been low key lately due to constantly being in a rush, running all around the city. These wedge boots from Zara have saved my life, easy to run to catch a cab in, but chic enough to wear to a meeting.
Last week I attended the Flare 30th Anniversary Gala (for you non-Canadians, Flare is a fashion magazine that I interned at this past summer). Because I was working the event, I got the chance to see and meet all kinds of Canadian celebs, athletes, socialites and designers. They had a photobooth that my friend Lynsie and I hit up at the end of the evening.
Also, I'm featured under 2 more American Apparel pieces! Check them out here and here! Regular blogging and comment returning to resume as soon as things start to slow down a bit.

if this isn't love, I don't think I can handle the real thing

Hi Friends,
Sometimes I get bored and pretend I cut my hair short. I also like to wear slightly questionable housecoats as outerwear. I bought it at a vintage event and like to think it was worn by an outrageous old lady who smoked cigarettes with an ivory cigarette holder and lived until she was one hundred and six years old, thank you very much. Somewhat like Ms. Dinsmoor in the 1998 film adaption of Great Expectations.
Hope you all had a fabulous Halloween. I wore a pirate costume intended for children ages 7 and 8 from the little boys section of the Disney Store. Sexy. xx

P.S. Check out my feature on the American Apparel website in the new "Seen on Bloggers" tab for my FAVOURITE AA piece, the Super Sheer Circle Scarf.

this time maybe i'll be bulletproof

Hello Everyone,
It feels like forever since I've updated. This past week was Toronto Fashion Week (or LG Fashion Week), and between classes, shows and after parties, it's been a blur! Unfortunately I didn't end up taking any worthwhile pictures at the shows, but my favourite collections were Pink Tartan, Evan Biddell, Travis Taddeo, NADA and Joe Fresh Style.
About my outfit:
  • The coat is a vintage find I bought during the summer, and I'm loving that it's chilly enough to start wearing it.
  • The oversized sweater and leather leggings are by my favourite brand Wilfred, sold in the Canadian store Aritzia. Literally half of my closet is by Wilfred. The leggings are buttery soft leather that I have been wearing almost every day, and the sweater is something I wore at a photoshoot and loved so much that I ended up buying it. Both are perfectly comfy, warm pieces for Fall/Winter that are great for layering.
  • I love the effect of the leggings with my Edelman boots, they almost remind me of the Rodarte boots from last season, where you couldn't tell if they were leggings or just really tall boots.
  • The sunglasses are Ray Ban Clubmasters, which I've wanted for a while and finally bought for myself as a pick-me-up after a recent breakup. Shopping is the best form of therapy, is it not?

Mark the Cobrasnake was in town for LG Fashion Week, and here are a couple shots from an after party. Big thanks to everyone who sent me emails regarding the shots, they were so sweet and each one made my day.

I'm going to try and be less MIA in the future, but I'm currently working on a bunch of awesome new projects that I'm really excited to reveal in the next few weeks/months, so bear with me for now!

is it worth it? let me work it.

Aloha.

  • I am doing this post in bullet points because I am half asleep about to crash into my bed and sleep forever
  • My lack of posting is due to me being insanely sick, it has literally been once ailment following the next. Trying to balance getting better and school work, while still trying to go out every other night is next to impossible. Thankfully, I'm starting to get a bit better.
  • This week my best friend and I went to see The Gossip in concert. Officially in love with Beth Ditto, but even moreso because she came to the after party and hung around smoking and drinking with everyone. And she has amazing pink hair right now. I didn't want to sound like a complete fangirl and ask for a photo but now I really wish I had.
  • I am loving floor length skirts and dresses right now.
  • New necklaces! One is a whistle and the other is a piece I stole from my mother that I will likely never return because it is awesome and chunky and perfect.
  • When I first saw the preview for the H&M Divided Exclusive Collection, I knew I had to get this jacket. I love it and it's studded deliciousness so much that I almost never take it off.
  • This week marks the start of Toronto Fashion Week which I will be attending - I'm SO excited.

Goodnight!!

you're in my mind, you're in my heart, i wish i knew right from the start

Hello Boys and Girls,
This weekend was an absolute whirlwind. I've been deathly ill, but despite that a friend and I decided on a whim to drive to Montreal on Friday to visit some people. While we were there, Steve Aoki and the Cobrasnake had an event so we decided to check it out for a bit. Montreal is one of my favourite cities, and my only regret is that I didn't have more time to do some shopping the next day!
This American Apparel Super Sheer Circle Scarf has been my obsession as of late. Perfect for those somewhat rainy days when you need a hood or if you want to look a little bit mysterious at night. I left it at my parents house this weekend and I'm actually experiencing withdrawl symptoms.
And here's my Cobrasnake shot!

Have a fabulous week! xo

who wore what?!

Hi friends!
I'm currently writing this from the confines of my bed. Since the school year started I've been out more nights than in, and it's finally caught up with me - I'm SO sick. My mum came to my flat to nurse me back to health, and Daddy just stopped in with my puppy, Bella, for a visit and brought me chocolate peanut butter ice cream, my very favourite. Needless to say I feel very loved and on the mend.

My friend and I both laughed when we saw THIS post on WhoWhatWear on Sunday. The night before, I was out at the Ford Supermodel of the World finale wearing a veryyy similar look. I went with my friend Kenneth, a male model who is signed with Ford and had some fabulous makeup done by NARS. The eye makeup was SO dramatic and fabulous, but I took most of it off before remembering to take outfit snapshots, which I seriously regret! I'm wearing an Erin Wasson x RVCA dress and my trusty Sam Edelman's. I highly recommend the dress to anyone hoping to get in on the crushed velvet trend, but beware - it's super short!xx EV

matte nail polish

Hey Loves,
I feel half brain dead as I write this, so I'll keep it short. Last night Dani and I went to watch some cute band boys play a show. I've had multiple people tell me that I'm not allowed to wear slips in public, but I still feel the need to channel my inner Courtney Love.

Have a gooood weekend! xx
